Jill Sutcliffe

Ceramics

Jill describes herself as an abstract ceramic sculptor. She uses form, colour and gestural markings to express her inspiration rather than produce an accurate depiction of a visual reality.

Her sculptures are influenced by a wide variety of observations found in the energy and colour of nature, and the forms and construction of architecture.

She uses a selection of her own glazes which react with each other to achieve the texture and volcanic effect found in her work.

All of Jill’s sculptures are unique and hand-built. They are frost resistant and can live inside or outside all year round.
