Katie Preston
Printmaking
Katie Preston is a printmaker whose screenprinting practice combines technical processes with intuitive mark-making. She studied Maths and Philosophy at university and worked as an editorial director in illustrated non-fiction publishing for 20 years before completing a Foundation art diploma in 2019. She has been screenprinting ever since, always searching for new ways to create her vivid, multi-layered limited edition prints.
Starting with photographs of the world around her in Wimbledon and in West Sussex, Katie’s prints create a fairytale version of everyday life, from trees, paths and park gates to bridges, streets and stations.
