Mel Barrett is a British artist, painting scenes and objects of everyday life. Like the women painters of the early twentieth century she is inspired by, she seeks to create harmonious compositions with simplified shapes and bold lines. She works predominantly in oils, using a rich, natural palette, but also creates mixed media works on paper and limited edition prints.
