Inspired by the built environment, both ancient and modern, and the detritus of ‘civilisation’, Paulene aims to highlight the beauty in the everyday by utilising materials to hand - including found objects, recycled clothing and previous artworks while drawing on her extensive collection of fabrics, threads and fibres amassed over time. Intaglio printmaking techniques are also used to realise these concepts.
