Wendy’s work has always circled around the idea of transience. Her recent work which will be on show during Wimbledon Art Trail focuses on places of personal significance marked by presence and absence, and to the visible and invisible traces left behind through time. The paintings are about memory and the emotional resonance of location, where surfaces, light and structure become carriers of experience. Through layering and colour, Wendy seeks to make visible what lingers after a moment has passed. Her figure drawings extend this enquiry, capturing the body as both vulnerable presence and fleeting movement.
