Workshops & Activities

Keir Garden and Tennis Court Garden, Cannizaro Park

We are delighted to be partnering with a host of experienced teachers and art educators to bring our creative zone to Cannizaro Park. All workshops at Art in the Park are free. Please book your places at the Cygnets and Artanda workshops; all other activities are drop-in.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and cannot be left unsupervised at any workshop activities.

  • Clay leaf bowls: 11am-1pm, 2pm-4pm

    Come and make your own clay bowl with a leaf imprint with Annabel Johnson from Hags Pottery. Design and fashion your bowl at the park. There is an option to glaze and fire the bowl and pick up at later date.

  • Art Hub: All day

    The Art hub will be a drop-in activity zone with a variety of projects to come and paint, stick, draw and sculpt. Aimed at children 3 years upwards. Please note, adults must accompany their children.

  • Children's Pattern Printing class: 11.30am-1pm

    Learn how to create your own stamp inspired from found objects within Cannizaro Park. Then create a print using the tool you have made.

    Suitable for 5-15 years. Please note, adults must accompany their children.

  • Communal Clay Sculpture: 11.30am - 3pm

    Come and help us build a tree of life. Mould clay into figures,animals, plants or bugs mythical or real as part of this community sculpture. This activity is put on by Workshop 305, come and meet the team. No need to book.

  • Natural Materials Workshop: 2pm

    Tim Norris RSS is one of the Cannizaro Studio artists and is a renowned sculptor of large-scale outdoor pieces made as far as possible from indigenous natural materials. At this free workshop he will demonstrate ways to make your own, smaller scale 3D creations from natural materials.

  • Adults' Wellbeing Watercolour Workshop: 2pm

    Artanda runs classes centred on finding the joy and peace that painting can bring you. In this one-off workshop Helena will run a still-life class inspired by the beauty of Cannizaro Park. No experience necessary, class limited to 12 people, please book.

  • Large scale communal drawing: All day

    Come and make your own drawing tools and then work with others to make the biggest drawing ever made in Cannizaro Park!

    This workshop is led by experienced artists and teachers. All ages welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Children's Sketching class: 2pm-3.30pm

    Learn how to sketch inspired by your surroundings, both found objects and the landscape around you.

    5-12yrs. Please note, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
